The African American Male Initiative is organized as a charitable-educational not for profit corporation whose principal focus represents a community coalition dedicated to the advancement of at risk African American males. This organization is dedicated to: 1. Developing academic enrichment programs. 2. Providing counseling, mentoring and support services. 3. Organizing violence prevention, teenage pregnancy prevention, drug abuse, career guidance and scholarship programs. This organization seeks to include parental and community involvement as a key component, and further seeks to heighten the community awareness of issues and preventative programs regarding African American males.
