Achieving Your Dreams Basketball School is the culmination of years of work with youngsters in academics and athletics in the Raleigh area. Founder, Joseph S. Garris, II, a 1992 graduate of North Carolina Central University in Sports Management, has been recognized for his work with young people in the classroom and on the basketball court. He received the Wake County Schools Special Olympics Coach of the Year Award in 1994, nominated Support Teacher of the Year in 1995 and was nominated to the Salute to Minority Educators in 1995. He was also a middle school basketball coach from 1998 - 2005 and composed a record of 100 wins and 32 loses. He is presently the head basketball coach for the Pleasant Union Post Graduate National Prep Team and is a NCAA certified coach. Mr. Garris resides in Raleigh with his wife and four children.
