Vacation and Sick Days

I will be observing two (2) weeks paid vacation a year.
I will have two paid sick days a year available to me, should they be needed.

Cleaning Procedures

All infant toys are cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis;
all other toys are cleaned and sanitized twice weekly.
All diaper areas are cleaned and sanitized after each changing.
All counter tops in the kitchen are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
All dishes are washed, rinsed and soaked in a sanitation solution before being
placed in the residential dishwasher with a heating element setat over 140 degrees.
All carpet in playrooms is vacuumed twice daily, and the kitchen floor
is mopped as needed.

Sick Children

Any child with fever of 101 degrees or higher, vomiting, diarrhea
or green mucus coming from their nose, or having a contagious disease
must be kept at home. This does not mean that you can give Tylenol
prior to bringing child to reduce fever. If your child begins to run a high fever,
or has other symptoms of an illness, he/she must be taken home until the cause can
be determined or the child is symptom free. Should I find it necessary to call you
to pick your child up, your pick-up needs to be done in a timely manner.
It is very important that we keep in mind the best interest of your own sick
child, as well as the other children in my care.

Diapering & Toilet Training

-I will supply all diapers and "wet ones". The parent will provide "pull-ups".
-I will change children's diapers according to their individual needs.
-I will assist in toilet training only if the parents agree to work closely with me
to provide a consistent routine, and the child is age appropriately ready.

Nutritious Meals & Snacks

* Meals and snacks served shall comply with the meal patterns for children
in child care that are based on the recommended nutrient intake judged by the
National Research Council to be adequate for maintaining good nutrition.
* Our meal menu is posted in the day care room. I am also a member of the
Capital Nutrition Food Program.
* I supply breakfast, lunch and snacks, as well as 100% juice and whole milk.
* If your child has a food allergy, you are required to provide his/her food,
which must also meet the Nutrition meal pattern.

Discipline & Behavior Management Policy

Praise and positive reinforcement are effective methods of the behavior management
in children. When children receive positive, non-violent and understanding interactions
from adults and others, they develop good self-concepts, problem solving abilities
and self-discipline. Our discipline and behavior practices are based on the above statement.

Parent Participation

We strongly encourage you to visit our facility with your child prior
to your enrollment with us. We welcome and plan parent/provider conferences on a
regular basis to discuss the child's needs and progress, and to exchange information
about the services we are offering. We strongly encourage parent participation in our
day care. This can be in the form of a volunteer for a field trip, or to help with craft
day. We encourage you to bring your gifted ideas into the day care to share with the
children; should it be a musical instrument, art, show and tell, etc. All ideas are welcomed.
We have and will maintain an open-door policy to allow you, the parent, unlimited access to
our day care during its operating hours, for the purposes of contacting the child or
evaluating our facility and the care we are providing.

Procedures for Reporting Suspected Child Abuse or Neglect

Should you, the parent or we, the providers suspect any form of child
abuse or neglect toward the child in our facility, the procedure for reporting these
allegations is by notifying the County Department of Social Services.
