Rosa María Weber

My name is Rosa Weber and I am originally from Madrid, Spain's capital city. I have dark and curly hair, brown eyes, I will just say that I am not very tall, and ever since I had my baby I am also a little plum. By the way... I am 32 years old, a non-denominational Christian, mother of a lovely three year old boy, and engaged to get married probably next year. I first came to Raleigh, North Carolina, when I was 18 years old and I had just finished high school back in Spain. I came primarily to learn the english language and I hoped to be able to make up my mind about my future career by the time I returned. I ended up meeting my first true love in the process, getting married, buying my first house, and going to school here to be able to start making some money and travel around, as that is one of my hobbies. The farther and more exotic the destination, the better! More hobbies? The first one would have to be Photography making my camera my most loyal and dear friend, then I truly love being a mom and I can't wait to have another baby (hopefully a girl!), and after that, I like and have done all sorts of crafts including knitting, cross-stitch, painting, machine sewing, scrapbooking, etc. I also enjoy reading and watching a good film, and I used to write pretty good poetry as well as a diary. I think that it is kind of difficult for me to try and decide what my favorite hobbies are, as I truly like learning in general and there are many things that I'm interested in. A couple more worth mentioning are foreign languages (fluent in English and Spanish, lol! and just a beginner in French), foreign foods and cultures, and Computers and Design in general. Of course!!!

So... anyway, after I got married I got a certificate as a travel agent and worked as one for a couple of years, then I got another certificate as a photographer and developed photos at several local labs for another couple of years... and then, we decided to go back to Spain together and start a family there. Ironically, the marriage ended up in divorce soon after and I then started taking all exams and tests there were to get different certificates and diplomas in the english language. As a result, I got the "First Certificate" and the "Proficiency" by Cambridge, the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communications) and the 5-year-degree by the "Official Language School" in Madrid. I then worked for almost 4 years in 3 different jobs, putting in a total of 32 hours a week: I was hired as a native teacher in "Wall Street Institute" (part of Sylvan Learning Systems) teaching english to teens and adults, and I was also teaching english to 4th graders twice a week at an elementary school, and tutoring kids at my house. It wasn't until recently that I started looking at my most beloved hobby of Photography as something else and decided to start my own business. From there I taught myself html from tutorials online, designed my own web site, grew as a business, started getting jobs as a web and graphic designer, and well... here I am, attending College to hopefully turn into a professional in my field and learn as much as I can!
